Lucknow, Dec 18, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday emphasized that the rising confidence in the state is a direct result of strengthened law and order and the consistent enforcement of the rule of law. Addressing the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) Raising Day Celebrations-2025 at the 35th Battalion in Lucknow, the chief minister highlighted the link between security, governance, and economic development, underlining the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against crime and criminals. Adityanath stated that a secure and stable environment forms the foundation for effective governance, attracting investments, and fulfilling the aspirations of the youth. He noted that improved law and order has played a decisive role in transforming Uttar Pradesh’s image nationally and has accelerated industrial growth, creating more opportunities for employment. He also recalled the bravery of the PAC’s 30th Battalion personnel during the Parliament attack on December 13, 2001, and their role in the July 2005 terror attack at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, where joint efforts with the CRPF and UP Police neutralized terrorists effectively. Highlighting ongoing reforms, Adityanath said that recruitment, training, and modernization of the police and PAC have strengthened the security apparatus. Over the past eight years, 2.19 lakh personnel have been recruited in the Uttar Pradesh Police, including over 44,000 women personnel, with 20% reservation for women. Additionally, the PAC has added 41,893 constables and 698 platoon commanders, with recruitment for more positions underway. For the first time, three women PAC battalions—Veerangana Uda Devi in Lucknow, Jhalkari Bai in Gorakhpur, and Avanti Bai in Budaun—have been raised, and more are planned. The government also revived 46 PAC companies, strengthening law and order and further enhancing the state’s image nationally.
