PM Modi Says RJD Is ‘Poisoning Young Minds’, Urges Bihar to Reject ‘Katta Sarkar’
Sitamarhi, Bihar | November 8, 2025 Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Sitamarhi, Bihar, launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing the party of corrupting the minds of children and promoting a culture of crime. He contrasted the RJD’s alleged misrule, which he described as “jungle raj”, with the NDA’s vision for a developed and progressive Bihar. “The RJD is poisoning the minds of our children,” the Prime Minister said. “Their campaign songs and slogans clearly show what kind of future they want for Bihar’s youth. On RJD’s stages, innocent children are being made to say that they want to become rangdar (extortionists). Tell me, should Bihar’s children dream of becoming doctors or criminals?” PM Modi referred to a recent incident in Samastipur, where a child at an RJD rally was seen saying that if the party came to power, they would carry country-made guns or kattas. The Prime Minister condemned this mindset, calling it dangerous for the state’s future. “Jungle raj means katta (guns), krurta (cruelty), katuta (social bitterness), kushasan (misgovernance), and corruption,” he said. “The people of Bihar don’t want a government of fear and violence. They want peace, progress, and opportunity.” The crowd echoed his words with chants of “Nahi chahiye katta sarkar, fir ek baar NDA sarkar” (We don’t want a government of violence, we want the NDA government again). PM Modi said the NDA’s focus is on empowering the next generation with education and technology, not weapons. “We are giving our children books, computers, and laptops. But the RJD wants Bihar’s youth to carry kattas and dunalis (double-barrel guns). Bihar’s children should dream of startups, not ‘hands up’ leaders,” he said. He also took a dig at RJD leaders, claiming they want power for themselves while keeping others in poverty. “They want their own children to become ministers, but want your children to become goons. That’s the truth of their politics,” the Prime Minister said. Highlighting the enthusiasm seen in the first phase of polling, PM Modi remarked that the RJD-led opposition had received a “65-volt shock” after witnessing the record voter turnout. “The message from Bihar is clear—people want development, not jungle raj. This election is about the future of your children, about a developed Bihar,” he said. The Prime Minister praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership and the NDA government’s role in restoring faith among the people. “Investors now want to come to Bihar because they trust the state’s growth and governance. That’s my Modi ki guarantee—a Bihar of progress, opportunity, and hope,” he said. PM Modi ended his speech by urging the people to vote for the NDA to ensure stability, growth, and a better future for the next generation. “Let’s give Bihar’s youth laptops, not kattas. Let’s give them dreams, not fear,” he said, drawing loud applause from the crowd.
