PM Modi Hoists Ayodhya Ram Mandir Flag Using Innovative Mechanism
Ayodhya | November 25, 2025 In a historic moment at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted a saffron flag atop the temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday, marking a symbolic milestone in the temple’s inauguration. Accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Modi carried out the ceremonial flag-hoisting in a unique, technology-driven manner. Unlike traditional flag-raising where ropes are manually pulled, the ceremony featured a specially designed mechanism. Following Vedic rituals by priests, Prime Minister Modi and Mohan Bhagwat approached a podium with a symbolic hand in the Namaskara pose next to the folded flag. By moving the hand towards the flag, they activated the hoisting system, raising the 22-feet by 11-feet saffron flag atop the 161-foot temple spire. The flag, crafted from parachute-grade cloth with a thick nylon rope, bears the Sun symbol representing Lord Ram’s Surya Vansh lineage, the sacred ‘Om’, and the Kovidara tree, signifying Ram Rajya’s values. Addressing the gathering, Modi described the Dharma Dhwaja as a symbol of India’s civilizational revival, saying it reflects centuries of struggle, faith, and the principles of dharma. The Ram temple’s construction began after Modi performed the Bhumi Poojan in August 2020, following the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict on November 9, 2019, which allocated 2.77 acres of disputed land for its establishment. The flag-hoisting ceremony was widely covered and drew attention for its blend of tradition and modern technology, symbolizing both reverence and innovation. The event underscores the temple’s completion and serves as a marker of cultural and spiritual significance for devotees nationwide.
