As part of his visit, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects across the state, with a total value exceeding ₹8,140 crore. These projects aim to boost key sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill training—reflecting the government’s focus on holistic growth for the hill state. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, projects worth about ₹930 crore are ready for inauguration, while new projects worth more than ₹7,210 crore will see their foundation stones laid during the ceremony. In addition to these initiatives, the Prime Minister will also transfer ₹62 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 28,000 farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). This move is expected to provide financial support and strengthen the safety net for farmers facing crop losses due to natural calamities. Among the major projects to be inaugurated are the Dehradun water supply expansion under the AMRUT scheme, which will cover 23 city zones, and a new electrical substation in Pithoragarh district to improve power reliability in remote regions. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate solar power plants installed across various government buildings and a new AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital, aimed at promoting sports infrastructure in the state. Two significant water and energy projects will also take shape with the laying of their foundation stones. The first, the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, will supply around 150 million litres of drinking water daily to Dehradun, easing the city’s growing water needs. The second, the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital, will provide a combination of drinking water, irrigation facilities, and power generation, contributing to both rural and urban development in the Kumaon region. Other upcoming projects include new electrical substations to strengthen the power network, a Women’s Sports College in Champawat to encourage female participation in athletics, and a modern dairy plant in Nainital designed to support local dairy farmers and improve milk production. Through these initiatives, the government aims to promote balanced growth across Uttarakhand, blending infrastructure development with social welfare and sustainable practices.
