Ayodhya to Soon Get a World-Class Temple Sanghralaya
Lucknow, December 2, 2025 The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved three proposals of the Tourism Department, giving a major boost to cultural, wellness and administrative capacity-building in the state. The decisions include the establishment of a world-class Temple Sanghralaya in Ayodhya, the introduction of the Uttar Pradesh Adheenasth Paryatan Seva Niyamawali 2025 and the setting up of an International Yoga and Wellness Centre in Baghpat. The first proposal clears the way for a Temple Sanghralaya on 52.102 acres of designated land in Ayodhya. The project will be developed with the participation of Tata Group through CSR support. The Sanghralaya is intended to serve as a dedicated space where visitors can understand the depth of Indian temple architecture, cultural heritage and the spiritual legacy of Ayodhya in an organised and engaging manner. It will have spacious galleries, landscaped areas, curated exhibition halls and digital interpretation spaces. By bringing together temple design traditions, ancient construction sciences, sculptures, carvings and archival material in a single experience, the Sanghralaya will help visitors appreciate the cultural richness that defines Ayodhya. With the city witnessing an exceptional rise in visitors after the consecration of the Ram Temple, this initiative aims to further enhance the overall experience of pilgrims, tourists and students. The second proposal approved by the Cabinet is the Uttar Pradesh Adheenasth Paryatan Seva Niyamawali 2025. The rules specify sanctioned posts for Publication Officers, Deputy or District Tourism Officers and Tourism Information Officers. UPPSC will conduct officer-level selections and UPSSSC will handle information and field-level appointments. With defined qualifications and service conditions, the new process will support smoother tourism operations and better visitor assistance across the state. An additional proposal approved by the Cabinet will pave the way for an International Yoga and Wellness Centre on 70.885 hectares in village Hariya Kheda of Baghpat. The centre will promote yoga, naturopathy and wellness tourism and will attract both domestic and international visitors. It is expected to support local employment and contribute to regional economic growth. Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the Yogi Government aims to establish Ayodhya as a global centre of culture and devotion supported by world-class facilities. He also noted that the new recruitment rules and the International Yoga and Wellness Centre will help tourism services function with better efficiency, accountability and responsiveness. With today’s Cabinet decisions, Uttar Pradesh moves closer to building a richer tourism experience and a more organised, people-focused tourism system across the state.
