Nine Schools in Noida Receive Bomb Threat Emails, Searches Confirm Hoax: Police
Noida, December 19, 2025: Panic briefly spread across parts of Noida on Friday after bomb threat emails were sent to at least nine schools in the city, including prominent institutions such as Amity International School and Shiv Nadar School. The threats prompted an immediate security response, but were later confirmed to be hoax messages following extensive checks by police and security agencies. According to officials, the threat emails were received by school authorities earlier in the day, triggering concern for the safety of students and staff. As soon as the information was reported, senior police officials swung into action. Teams from the local police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads and anti-sabotage units were rushed to the affected schools to carry out thorough inspections. Additional Commissioner of Police (Gautam Buddh Nagar) Rajeev Narain Mishra said that the security teams conducted detailed searches of school buildings, classrooms, corridors, playgrounds and other sensitive areas. As a precautionary step, surrounding locations such as nearby metro stations, markets and other crowded public places were also checked to rule out any possible threat. “After a comprehensive search operation, no suspicious object or explosive material was found at any of the schools. Preliminary investigation has revealed that these emails were hoax messages,” ACP Mishra said. He added that despite the threats being fake, the police are maintaining full vigilance and have initiated the process for necessary legal action against those responsible for spreading panic. School administrations cooperated closely with the authorities during the checks. In many cases, students were kept under supervision or sent home early to ensure their safety while the searches were underway. Parents were informed by school officials to avoid panic and were reassured once the situation was declared safe. The incident in Noida comes close on the heels of a similar scare reported in the National Capital Region earlier this month. On December 10, several schools across Delhi received bomb threat emails that warned of explosions around noon. Those threats also turned out to be hoaxes after security agencies conducted extensive searches. A school in Gurugram was also among those targeted during that incident. Police officials believe that such hoax emails are often sent with the intention of creating fear and disruption rather than posing a real threat. However, they stressed that every threat, regardless of its source, is treated with utmost seriousness to ensure public safety. “Even if there is a small possibility of danger, we cannot take any chances. Our priority is always the safety of children and the public,” a senior officer said. Authorities are now focusing on tracing the origin of the emails. Cybercrime teams are expected to analyse email headers, servers and digital footprints to identify those behind the hoax. Legal action may include charges related to creating public panic and misuse of electronic communication. The repeated incidents of bomb threat hoaxes targeting schools have raised concerns among parents, educators and law enforcement agencies. Experts say such false alarms not only cause fear but also disrupt academic activities and strain emergency response systems. Police have appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours on social media during such incidents. They also urged institutions to immediately inform authorities if they receive any threatening communication, instead of attempting to assess the threat on their own. As of Friday evening, normalcy had returned to all the affected schools in Noida, with officials confirming that there was no danger. Investigations are ongoing to ensure those responsible are identified and held accountable.
