Udaipur, December 26: A manager working with a private IT company has alleged that she was gang-raped in a moving car by her company’s CEO, a senior female executive, and the executive’s husband after they offered to drop her home following a New Year party in Rajasthan’s Udaipur, police said on Wednesday. The incident has sparked serious concern over workplace safety and abuse of trust by senior officials. According to the police, the incident took place after a New Year party organised by the company at a private hotel on December 20. The victim reached the venue around 9 pm, and the party continued till about 1:30 am. When most guests began leaving, the woman found herself left behind. At that point, she alleged, the company’s CEO, the female executive head, and her husband offered to give her a lift home. Police said the woman agreed and got into the car driven by the female executive head. Her husband and the CEO were already inside the vehicle. During the journey, the accused allegedly stopped at a shop and bought smoking material, which they offered to the woman. She claimed that after consuming it, she began feeling dizzy and soon lost consciousness. In her complaint, the woman stated that when she partially regained consciousness, she found the CEO allegedly molesting her inside the moving car. She further alleged that all three accused then sexually assaulted her while she was in a semi-conscious state. The car reportedly continued moving during the assault, and she was later dropped at her home around 5 am. After regaining full consciousness at home, the woman said she realised that some of her belongings, including an earring, socks, and undergarments, were missing. She also noticed injuries on her private parts and felt severe physical and emotional distress. The following morning, she approached the police and lodged a detailed complaint narrating the incident. Based on her complaint, a case was registered against the three accused. Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said the accused were immediately detained and questioned. “The woman’s statement was recorded, and she was sent for a medical examination. Further action was taken based on the initial findings,” the SP said. Police later arrested the three accused, identified as the company’s CEO Jayesh, co-accused Gaurav, and his wife Shilpa, who is a senior executive in the firm. SP Goyal said the medical examination report confirmed injury marks on the victim, providing prima facie evidence supporting the allegation of gang rape. The investigation has now been handed over to Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma to ensure a thorough and impartial probe. Police are examining all available evidence, including audio and video recordings from a dashcam installed in the car. Officials said the dashcam allegedly captured voices during the incident, which could play a crucial role in establishing the sequence of events. The accused have been produced before a court, and further legal proceedings are underway. Police said they are also verifying details related to the party, the movements of the accused, and the victim’s condition throughout the night. Statements of witnesses connected to the party and hotel staff are also being recorded. Senior police officials assured that the investigation would be conducted fairly and that strict action would be taken if the accused are found guilty. “This is a serious allegation involving abuse of power and trust. No one will be spared, and the law will take its course,” an official said. The incident has once again highlighted concerns about women’s safety, particularly in professional settings where senior officials misuse their authority. As the investigation continues, the case has drawn attention to the need for stronger safeguards, accountability, and support systems for working women to prevent such crimes and ensure swift justice.
