Yogi Govt takes steps to develop skills of youth, empower them financially
Lucknow : In a bid to boost economic empowerment of the youth in the state, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HCL Technology, which aims to provide skill development and employment opportunities to the youth of the state.
Under the MoU, HCL will provide training in various courses and offer a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for 6 months during the internship to the selected candidates. The trained candidates will then be employed by HCL for two years after completion of graduation. It will not only help the youth gain industry exposure, but also1) UP Skill Development Mission and HCL ink MoU
2) HCL to provide stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for six months during internship, employment for two years
The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has presented the entire outline and provisions of the MoU with HCL to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has given some instructions. The admission process for the program will start soon after including these instructions.
HCL's TechBee program is already providing an opportunity for 12th- class students to enter jobs with HCL after completing 12 months of training in IT services and associate job roles. This MoU between HCL Technology and the state government is non-financial and effective until 2025.
Rajeev Yadav, Deputy Director of the UP Skill Development Mission, discussed some important points regarding the MoU signed between the State Government and HCL Technology. This MoU aims to provide opportunities for eligible candidates to join HCLTSS's TechBee program. To achieve this goal, directions have been given that will be presented to the board of HCL for their approval. Once approved, the admission process for the program will commence.
The initiative aims to identify eligible candidates from all districts of Uttar Pradesh and provide them with permanent employment opportunities. The program will offer various job roles, including that of Software Developer, Analyst, Design Engineer, Cad Engineer, Data Engineer, Support, and Process Associate. To accomplish this, assistance will be given in organizing workshops and meetings for school principals and other district meetings.
Specialties of Techbee program-
For IT, GIT and ST Rolls, it is mandatory for all the candidates to have Mathematics or Business Mathematics as a subject in 12th.
In 2020-21 and 2021-22, students who have passed 12th grade from UP Board, CBSE and ICSE Board must at least have 60 percent overall marks and 60 percent marks in Mathematics or Business Mathematics to be eligible for admission in IT.
For admission in GIT, it will be mandatory for the students of all boards to have overall 60 percent marks and marks between 50 to 59 percent in Mathematics or Business Mathematics.
Similarly, for admission in SD, it is mandatory for the students of all boards to have 60 percent overall marks and more than 42.5 percent marks in Mathematics or Business Mathematics.
Stipend will be given during internship-
A fee of Rs 1 lakh (plus 18 percent GST) will be payable to the students for training in the Techbee programme. Partner banks will also provide loan schemes for skill fees for enrolled students. When students begin working, they will be required to pay the EMI. Candidates will be required to be employed with HCL for a period of two years after completing their graduation degree. After successful completion, it will lead to a full-time position at HCL Technology. This program will be divided into two parts, with the first six months being classroom training and the second six months being an internship. During the internship, students will receive a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month.
Hybrid training program also proposed
Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) pays a common cost norm of Rs 49 to 50 per hour to its training partners for NCVET- approved courses. The total cost of training for 6months through UPSDM comes to Rs 39,200 at the rate of Rs 49 per hour for 800 hours. However, HCL is providing a significantly higher amount of Rs 10,000, i.e. a total of Rs 60,000 to candidates for six months during the internship under the Techbee program.
