New Delhi | November 15, 2025 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on November 15 for a detailed review of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor and to unveil a wide range of development initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure and tribal welfare in the Narmada region. The visit will begin at around 10 AM in Surat, where the Prime Minister will inspect the ongoing construction of the Surat Bullet Train Station. This assessment will focus on the overall progress of the 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), which spans 352 km across Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 156 km in Maharashtra. The high-speed rail line will link major hubs including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Mumbai, significantly cutting travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to nearly two hours once operational. As per current project updates, approximately 326 km of viaducts have been completed out of the planned 465 km, and 17 of the 25 river bridges are already in place. The civil works and track-bed preparation for the Surat–Bilimora stretch, covering 47 km, have been finished. The Surat station itself draws design inspiration from the city’s famed diamond trade and is planned to offer modern amenities such as lounges, restrooms, retail areas, and seamless connectivity with Surat Metro, city buses, and the broader Indian Railways network. Following his review in Surat, the Prime Minister will proceed to Narmada district as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas commemoration. At 12:45 PM, he will visit the Devmogra Temple, and later, at around 2:45 PM, he will attend a large public programme in Dediapada honoring the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over ₹9,700 crore, focusing on enhancing infrastructure, education, healthcare, and overall tribal development. He will participate in the Grih Pravesh ceremony for one lakh houses built under PM-JANMAN and DA-JAGUA schemes. A major highlight includes the inauguration of 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) valued at ₹1,900 crore, along with 228 Multi-Purpose Centres.
