The decision comes after two back-to-back firing attacks on September 11 and 12, carried out by members of the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang. A senior official confirmed the approval to PTI on Sunday, stating that the license request was made soon after the attack. According to officials, Jagadish approached the District Magistrate seeking permission to legally carry a firearm for personal protection. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had previously assured him of full security after the shooting shook the household. Bareilly District Magistrate Avnish Singh explained that all necessary checks and verification procedures were completed before issuing a license for a revolver or pistol. The operation was carried out jointly by the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force, Haryana STF, and the Delhi unit.
