Dhurandhar 2’ Creates Premiere Record with Over 2 Lakh Advance Tickets Sold Before Release
Maharashtra | 9 March 2026 The upcoming Bollywood film Dhurandhar: The Revenge has created a major buzz even before its release by setting a new record for premiere show collections. The sequel to Dhurandhar has sold more than two lakh tickets for its preview shows across India. Advance bookings began on March 7 shortly after the trailer launch, and the response from audiences has been exceptionally strong. Within the first 24 hours alone, around 87,000 tickets were sold on the platform BookMyShow, showing the massive anticipation surrounding the film. According to early box office data from Sacnilk, the film has already sold about 2.06 lakh tickets for its premiere shows, generating around ₹12.29 crore. Most of the earnings have come from the Hindi version, but the Tamil dubbed version has also performed better than expected by earning close to ₹10 lakh from preview bookings. With the premiere still several days away, trade experts believe the numbers could increase even further. The strong advance bookings have already placed the film ahead of several Bollywood opening-day collections. The preview earnings of ₹12.29 crore have surpassed the opening day collections of O Romeo starring Shahid Kapoor, which earned just over ₹9 crore on its first day. The numbers are also slightly higher than the opening day collection of Baaghi 4 featuring Tiger Shroff, which reportedly opened at around ₹12 crore in India. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features Ranveer Singh returning as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat, an Indian spy operating in Karachi. The sequel focuses on his backstory and his mission for revenge following the 2008 Mumbai Attacks. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Danish Pandor, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in important roles. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Creates Premiere Record with Over 2 Lakh Advance Tickets Sold Before Release The upcoming Bollywood film Dhurandhar: The Revenge has created a major buzz even before its release by setting a new record for premiere show collections.
