Barabanki to Get Three New Bridges Worth ₹2.45 Crore, Boost for Connectivity in Rural Areas
Barabanki | March 22, 2026 In a significant step towards improving rural infrastructure, approval has been granted for the construction of three RCC box culvert bridges in the Saryu river region of Barabanki district. The projects, estimated at a cost of ₹2.45 crore, aim to enhance connectivity across key routes in the Tikaitnagar area and provide relief to local residents. The initiative has been taken with the support of State Minister Satish Chandra Sharma. The bridges will be constructed on the Saraynunili–Karauni road, Atrasuiya route, and Pandey Purwa link road in Puredalai block. Once completed, these projects are expected to benefit over two dozen villages, including Gobarha, Chhuriya, Gederapur, Bhairukol, Sarai Surjan, Telwari, and Semri. For years, residents in these areas have faced major difficulties, especially during the monsoon season when waterlogging disrupts movement completely. The new construction includes replacing damaged and outdated structures with modern RCC culverts. The Saraynunili–Karauni route will see a new culvert built at a cost of ₹94.47 lakh, while the Atrasuiya site will have a structure worth ₹86.28 lakh. Additionally, a new bridge costing ₹64.06 lakh will replace an old and damaged pipe culvert on the Pandey Purwa route. Local residents have welcomed the move, stating that the demand for better infrastructure had been pending for a long time. Officials believe that once completed, these bridges will not only ease transportation but also support overall development in the region, especially during flood seasons when connectivity is often severely affected.Barabanki to Get Three New Bridges Worth ₹2.45 Crore, Boost for Connectivity in Rural Areas In a significant step towards improving rural infrastructure, approval has been granted for the construction of three RCC box culvert bridges in the Saryu river region of Barabanki district.
