Ameesha Patel Household Theft Case: Staff Arrested Over ₹5 Lakh Jewellery

New Delhi, September 12, 2026 A staff member working at actor Ameesha Patel’s family residence in Mumbai has been arrested over the alleged theft of jewellery valued at around ₹5 lakh. The case came to light after expensive ornaments, including a diamond-studded gold bangle, were found missing from the family home in Churchgate. Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, subsequently approached the police and filed a complaint regarding the missing valuables. Confirming the arrest to India Today, Ameesha’s manager said, “Yes, it’s true. They caught the staff member, who is now in jail.” The accused remains in custody while the police investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft. Neither Ameesha Patel nor her family has issued an official statement on the matter so far. The investigation is continuing as authorities look into the alleged disappearance of the jewellery and the role of the arrested staff member. On the work front, Ameesha was last seen in Gadar 2 (2023), alongside Sunny Deol. Directed by Anil Sharma and also starring Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur and Manish Wadhwa, the film became a major commercial success, earning more than ₹600 crore worldwide. Patel has since largely maintained a selective screen presence, while Gadar 3 remains in the early stages of development. Patel made her Hindi film debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000 opposite Hrithik Roshan, which became a commercial success and established her as a prominent newcomer. She later reunited with the action-drama genre through Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), opposite Sunny Deol, further strengthening her position in mainstream Hindi cinema.
