New Delhi, October 30, 2026 The Supreme Court has directed expelled JD(U) MLA Anant Singh to surrender by December 1 in the Dular Chand Yadav murder case, while allowing him temporary relief to attend his daughter's wedding. Although his bail has not been revoked, the court questioned how bail was granted despite 67 criminal antecedents being cited against him. Reacting to the court's proceedings, Shilpi Chowdhary, advocate for the petitioner, said, "The bail has not been cancelled. He has to surrender by December 1. Above all, the court came down heavily on the opposite side, saying that there were 67 criminal antecedents, so how was he granted bail? The court said that so many cases against him can't be due to political rivalry." Chowdhary explained that Anant Singh has been given a month's time to attend his daughter's wedding, after which he must surrender and return to jail. She further stated that the investigation is expected to be completed within four months, following which the case will be taken up again. The court's next consideration will come after the investigation reaches its stipulated stage.
