May 15, Lucknow.* Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in terms of population and thus the number of migrant workers and labourers is also high here. Despite this, the government is committed to ensure that workers and labourers face no problem in returning home. CM Yogi has appealed people not to travel on foot, two-wheelers while putting themselves and their family at risk. The government’s first priority is safe return of all. To help such people, CM Yogi has ordered all the district magistrates to launch drives at the district level. Besides, order has been issued to help such people at the state borders and welcome them with respect.

This information was given by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad at a press conference held on Friday in Lok Bhawan regarding Corona virus. ACS Home said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern over the migrant workers and labourers travelling on foot, bicycles and trucks etc. The CM has ordered all the district magistrates of the state to stop people from travelling on foot and two-wheelers by campaigning at the district level. Such people should be taken to the quarantine centers and after screening and providing them meals, arrangement should be made to send them for home quarantine. CM Yogi has ordered for the formation of a special police teams at every police station level in the state for this work. The task of this team will be to provide all possible help to people traveling on foot, two-wheelers and trucks etc.

ACS Home said that in a meeting with Team 11, giving strict instructions to the officers, CM Yogi directed that apart from UPSRTC buses, private buses, jeeps etc. should be arranged at district level. These vehicles should be made available at every police station level so that it could be used for sending people traveling on foot, two-wheelers and trucks etc. safely to their home districts. CM Yogi has also directed that the people coming from the border areas of the state should be welcomed with respect, they should be provided with meals and also a bottle of potable water. After this, they should be given all possible help in reaching their districts.

ACS Home said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shramik special trains are being operated continuously for Uttar Pradesh. He said that so far, 4 lakh 70 thousand workers and labourers have returned by 380 trains including 201 from Gujarat, 72 from Maharashtra, 67 trains from Punjab, 13 trains from Karnataka, 5 from Kerala, and 5 trains from Telangana. He said that about 70 trains arrived in the state on Friday as well. He said that now 48 stations have been identified in the state for the arrival of these trains. He said that about 1 lakh people are returning from Delhi by 4 trains. These trains are coming to Varanasi and Gorakhpur. He said that out of 626 trains, 380 trains have arrived so far.

ACS Home said that since March 1 to April 30, 6 lakh 50 thousand people have returned to UP out of which 4 lakh 70 thousand have returned by trains, 70 thousand by buses and 1 lakh 50 thousand people have returned by their own vehicles. He said that in total 13 lakh 50 thousand people have so far moved to UP. He said that 11964 buses are specially contributing in this entire campaign. UPSRTC's fleet consists of 9267 buses and 2697 buses on contract for this service.

ACS Home said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that data of all migrant workers and labourers should be prepared and full details of their skilling capacity should be collected. He said that CM Yogi has instructed to use the relief package given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the basis of this data.

*Trend of increase in number of patients getting cured continues; drop in active cases*  

Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that since last Monday, there are less active cases in the state and the number of patients getting cured is increasing continuously. He said that 4878 samples of Corona were tested on Thursday. Along with this, testing of 426 pool samples was done by combining 2082 samples of which 35 pool samples were found positive. He said that till now a large sample was made by combining 5 samples in pool testing, but now 10 samples will be used. He said that 1878 people are undergoing treatment in isolation and 9910 in quarantine. Of the total people infected so far, 74.6 percent are males and 25.4 percent are females.

Principal Secretary Health said that 75 thousand 6 teams were engaged in surveillance of corona infection in the state. These teams surveyed 61 lakh 92 thousand 280 households. Besides, 3 crore 7 lakh 34 thousand 222 people were also screened. He said that a large number of migrant workers and labourers have come back in the state. All have been asked to stay in the home quarantine for 21 days. The people undergoing home quarantine are being screened by the village monitoring and mohalla monitoring committees. Now further strengthening this system, ASHA workers have also been entrusted with the responsibility of screening the people living in the home quarantine. He said that 2 lakh 62 thousand 638 people have been screened so far by ASHA workers. During the screening, symptoms of cold, fever etc. were found in 305 people. The Health Department is taking action on reports of such people.
