Prime Minister's relief package will pave way for every citizen to have access to government facilities and ensure their self-reliance: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, 17 May.* Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while praising the package announced by the central government to make the country self-reliant. He said that the economic package will give a new momentum to the country's economy which will not only make every citizen happy, but will help us win the fight against Corona.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that through the Prime Minister's relief package, the Finance Minister has announced  separate packages in four days. Through this package, the country will be able to become self-sufficient. He said that the Prime Minister's relief package paves the way for every citizen to have access to the facilities of government and ensure their self-reliance. He said that all the states were demanding to increase the FRBM limit from 3 per cent to 5 per cent. The Central Government has agreed to this demand of the states for one year. This will provide a big facility to the states to avail loans to meet their needs.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the announcement made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on employment, education, industry and poor welfare will benefit every citizen of the country. Today the entire country is welcoming the announcement made for the MSME sector. This is the basis of what the Prime Minister has said to make the local as global. He said that if we look at the MSME sector, the rules of insolvency have been relaxed. The states with the MSME sector, including Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, are the backbone of the country's economy, this will give great strength, and will create employment.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government is running Shramik Special trains for the safe return of migrant workers. The Railway Ministry and the Government of India are going to bear 85 per cent of the expenditure incurred in this, while the concerning state is bearing the remaining amount. He said that if all the states will support their share of the amount, migrant workers can reach their homes safely without paying any fare. He said that more than 475 Shramik Special trains have arrived in Uttar Pradesh. In this, more than 6 lakh migrant workers have been transported to the quarantine centers of their home district.

The Chief Minister said arrangements have been made to provide free ration to 80 crore people of the country under the comprehensive action plan that has been announced for migrant workers. He said that till now 18 crore people have been provided free ration thrice in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, task of creation of jobs has started in the state, industries in the MSME sector have resumed operations in which jobs are being provided.

The Chief Minister further said that through MNREGA, 30 lakh people are being provided employment every day and target has been set for creating 300 crore jobs. A provision of Rs 40 thousand crore has been made for this. Arrangements have also been made to ensure that all people including migrant labourers get work during the monsoon, he added.

He said that health sector of the state has become strong in the last three years. When Corona crisis began, we did not have enough facilities, but at present 26 labs are functional in Uttar Pradesh. The Central Government is providing kits in sufficient quantities. Presently, 6000 tests are being done daily, and it is being increased to 10 thousand in the next two-three days. So far, 1.75 lakh tests have been done in the state. Its capacity is being expanded in collaboration with the Central Government. He said that a large number of Covid hospitals of Level-1, 2 and 3 have been established. Total of 55 thousand beds have been set up for corona positive patients. All the 75 districts of the state have ventilator facilities today, the Chief Minister said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 26 PPE kit production units have been established in Uttar Pradesh alone. Sanitizers are being delivered from Uttar Pradesh to 28 states. In Uttar Pradesh, many big tasks have been accomplished in the health sector. In the last three years, the work of establishing 29 new medical colleges has started in Uttar Pradesh. Admission process in 7 medical colleges also began last year. Besides, two new AIIMS have also started. Along with OPD, the courses started in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli and the remaining work is going on fast. These medical colleges have given big contribution in fighting against Corona crisis. We have succeeded in providing better treatment, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the school and colleges are closed during the lockdown. During this time, a platform for online education has been made available for students. The government has launched 12 channels for online education. Uttar Pradesh has adopted this platform in the education sector.
