Odisha | 6 March 2026 Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 57th Raising Day celebration of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday at the Kharavela Regional Training Centre in Mundali, located in Cuttack, Odisha. The event highlighted the contribution of CISF personnel in protecting important national infrastructure and maintaining security across the country. During his visit, the Home Minister also participated in several official programmes aimed at strengthening the security and forensic systems in the state. During the visit, Amit Shah performed the Bhumi Pujan and laid the foundation stone for the campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Bhubaneswar. He also virtually inaugurated the transit campus of the university. The Home Minister was received at the Bhubaneswar airport by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Several important programmes were scheduled as part of the visit, focusing on improving forensic education and investigative capabilities in the region. Shah also performed the Bhumi Pujan of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), which will be built alongside the NFSU campus in Bhubaneswar. He inaugurated an exhibition on the "New Nyaya Sanhita" and flagged off a Mobile Forensic Van designed to support modern forensic investigations. On this occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and several senior officials and dignitaries were present. The new NFSU campus in Bhubaneswar is expected to play a key role in strengthening the forensic and investigative infrastructure of Odisha. The permanent campus will be built on 40 acres of land provided by the state government and will function as a centre of excellence in forensic and allied sciences. The temporary campus will begin operations with specialised programmes including M.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Digital Forensics and Information Security, and LL.M. in Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation.
