Lucknow | March 23, 2026 Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna on Monday announced that the state cabinet has approved the construction, widening, and strengthening of the 24 Kos Vansh Gopal Teerth Parikrama route in Sambhal district under the Dharamarth (charitable) scheme for the financial year 2025–26. The decision aims to improve infrastructure for thousands of devotees who undertake the monthly religious circuit. The 24 Kos Parikrama, held regularly around the Vansh Gopal pilgrimage site, currently lacks a proper paved road. Devotees are forced to travel through unpaved and muddy paths, especially during adverse weather conditions, leading to significant inconvenience. The demand for a permanent and accessible route had been consistently raised by local representatives and residents. According to the minister, the project will involve the development of a 7-metre-wide road, which will not only facilitate smoother movement for pilgrims but also improve connectivity for nearby villages and towns. The improved infrastructure is expected to reduce travel difficulties and enhance safety for those participating in the religious journey. In addition to religious benefits, the project is also likely to boost local economic activity. Better road connectivity will help farmers transport crops and produce to markets more efficiently, contributing to regional development. The total estimated cost of the project stands at approximately ₹300.10 crore.
