Bengaluru | March 23, 2026 Ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 matches starting March 28, city police have significantly strengthened security arrangements at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to ensure the safety of spectators and smooth conduct of the games. Central Division DCP Akshay M Hakay personally inspected the venue and reviewed preparedness across key areas. During the inspection, officials closely examined spectator stands, holding zones, entry and exit points, and other sensitive locations within the stadium. Coordination meetings were also held with stakeholders, including the Karnataka State Cricket Association, event partners, and emergency response teams to ensure seamless planning and execution. Police officials stated that enhanced crowd management strategies and emergency protocols have been implemented, drawing lessons from last year’s incident at the venue. Measures such as improved barricading, regulated entry systems, and designated holding areas have been put in place to prevent overcrowding and ensure orderly movement of spectators. In addition, surveillance systems are being strengthened with continuous CCTV monitoring and deployment of additional personnel at critical points. Traffic authorities are also working in coordination to manage vehicle flow around the stadium. Public advisories are expected to be issued soon to guide spectators and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Tight Security in Place at M.
