PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts for Paper Leak Cases Amid Student Unrest

New Delhi, July 23, 2026 Growing concerns over paper leak cases and student protests have intensified the national debate on the future of India's education system. Amid demonstrations in New Delhi and heated exchanges in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a fresh initiative aimed at ensuring strict action against those involved in examination paper leaks. In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth!" He added, "We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. I have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard." The Prime Minister further stated, "This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared." The announcement comes as the Social Media Platform Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and several Opposition parties continue protests while demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the issue. The paper leak controversy has remained a key point of political confrontation in recent days. Responding on X, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi criticised the Prime Minister, saying, "You are the one who has harmed the future of our youth the most. You allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of our education system - and protected every person responsible for it." He also reiterated the demands raised by protesting students, underscoring that the issue continues to dominate the political discourse over education reforms and accountability.
