New Delhi, August 02, 2026 India enjoyed a historic Day 10 at the Commonwealth Games 2026, delivering one of its strongest performances of the competition. Indian athletes secured 16 medals in a single day, including 10 in boxing, helping the country climb six places in the medal standings. With 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze medals, India now has 39 medals and sits fourth in the overall tally. Australia continues to dominate the standings with 149 medals, including 61 gold, 38 silver and 50 bronze. England is second with 99 medals, while Canada occupies third place with 57. India’s surge has pushed hosts Scotland down to fifth, with 12 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze medals. Nigeria, Wales and New Zealand follow in sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively. Boxing proved to be the biggest source of India’s success, with the country winning 10 medals, including seven golds. Ankush Panghal and Sachin Siwach won gold in the men’s events, while Jasmine Lamboria, Sakshi Chaudhary, Priya Ghanghas, Arundhati Chaudhary and Preeti triumphed in the women’s events. Jadumani Singh, Lovlina Borgohain and Narendra Berwal added three silver medals to the tally. India also made its mark in athletics. Praveen Chithravel won silver and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran claimed bronze in the men’s triple jump, while Soman Rana won gold and Shubham Juyal secured silver in shot put.
