Three more districts add to Uttar Pradesh’s success as state marches forward towards eradication of Covid-19
With three more districts adding to Uttar Pradesh’s success in crushing the resurgent coronavirus, the state’s Recovery Rate has climbed up to a remarkable 99 percent.
As Active and Fresh Covid-19 infections have declined to zero in Aligarh, Kasganj and Shrawasti, Uttar Pradesh is moving fast towards being coronavirus-free.
The achievement of all the three districts was highly appreciated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and he announced to reward the districts which eliminated the disease with emphasis on strict screening, treatment and vaccination.
“Aligarh, Kasganj and Shrawasti are leading UP’s way towards being Covid-free. It is a result of combined efforts of a unified team of ‘24 crore’ including health workers, frontline workers, surveillance committees and the local administrations. The districts will be rewarded if the current situation is maintained for one more week,” said the Chief Minister while expressing immense satisfaction over the covid situation on Thursday.
Shrawasti, Aligarh and Kasganj have been able to limit the fresh Covid-19 cases to zero for almost a week now.
*No Fresh Covid-19 case in 33 districts whereas 41 districts report fresh cases in single-digits*
In another significant accomplishment, as many as 33 districts reported no case of covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, whereas 41 districts reported new cases in just single-digits. Only Varanasi reported 11 fresh cases of coronavirus being the single district to report cases in double-digits.
In what comes as a big relief, none of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh reported more than 15 fresh cases of coronavirus infection.
Importantly, the Active Covid Cases in over 29 districts have also been reduced to even less than 10, indicating signs that the dangerous virus has been arrested up to a great extent.

With testing as many as 5,98,48,583 samples for the novel coronavirus infection so far, Uttar Pradesh is close to breaching the 60-million tests frontier.
Following an aggressive Testing Policy as per the target of ‘Trace, Test and Treat’, the state has been leading in terms of conducting maximum Covid tests.
As per the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization, Uttar Pradesh adopted a ‘Go Far, Go Hard’ approach to reach the last mile within the state. On the scale of testing samples per positive case, 6.4 tests per positive case were conducted in Maharashtra, 11.5 in Karnataka, 8 in Kerala, 14 in Delhi, 12.8 in Tamil Nadu and 11.4 tests per positive case in Andhra Pradesh, whereas Uttar Pradesh has been able to conduct 34.6 tests per positive case.
Eliminating the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, out of the 2,59,174 samples tested in the last 24 hours, merely 112 samples tested positive for the Covid-19 infection and as a result the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) has slumped to 0.04 percent in Uttar Pradesh, lower than the lowest post first wave of the pandemic.
In the same period, another 258 patients also recovered from the infection, adding to the recovery of as many as 16,82,589 so far.
The active cases have drastically reduced from a high of 3,10,783 in April to 1789 now, out of which nearly 1300 people are in home isolation.
