India Promotes ‘Study in India’ at 21st International Education Show in Sharjah

Sharjah, Oct 8, 2025: India showcased its flagship higher education initiative, ‘Study in India,’ at the 21st International Education Show at Expo Centre Sharjah. The four-day event brings together more than 100 universities and academic institutions from over 16 countries, offering students and parents opportunities for networking, guidance, and academic engagement. The India Pavilion, organized by EdCIL (India) Ltd. under the Ministry of Education, features 16 leading Indian institutions including IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani, Symbiosis, SRM University, IIM Lucknow, SP Jain, and Amity University. The pavilion was inaugurated by Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai. K.K. Gautam, Deputy General Manager of EdCIL, highlighted the growing global appeal of Indian higher education. “The Study in India initiative, running for almost eight years, encourages international students to pursue quality higher education in India. This year, the portal has been upgraded with an e-Visa facility, e-FRRO module, and a 24×7 AI chatbot and helpdesk for easy guidance,” Gautam said. The initiative offers students access to over 1,000 universities and 51,000 colleges, providing more than 10,000 courses across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, with over 200,000 seats available. The program emphasizes a multicultural learning environment, globally recognized degrees, and institute-driven fee scholarships. Financial assistance is provided through scholarships by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) covering 21 disciplines, and the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme. Indian universities are also gaining recognition internationally, with 46 institutions featured in the QS World University Rankings. IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur lead major research collaborations and joint degree programs with global partners. The International Education Show is one of the UAE’s largest academic fairs, featuring universities, technical institutes, high schools, and training centers. The 2025 edition gives students access to scholarship opportunities, admission guidance, and emerging educational technologies, strengthening India’s position as a global education destination. The ‘Study in India’ initiative aims to attract international students by offering quality education at affordable costs, a wide variety of programs, and a vibrant academic experience. India’s participation at the show underlines its commitment to promoting higher education globally and fostering cultural and academic exchange. Through the program, students from around the world can explore India’s diverse academic landscape, apply for courses online, and benefit from simplified admission and visa procedures.
