Dubai, October 13: The 45th edition of GITEX Global, the world’s largest technology and AI event, opened today at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Harbour. The five-day event, running until October 17, features over 6,800 exhibitors and 2,000 startups from more than 180 countries. GITEX 2025 highlights cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and sustainable technologies, reinforcing Dubai and the UAE as key hubs for global digital transformation. Approximately 70 percent of attendees are C-level executives, policymakers, and innovators, demonstrating GITEX’s role as a platform for collaboration on major global challenges such as climate resilience, healthcare innovation, cybersecurity, and urban mobility. India is participating on a large scale this year, with 237 exhibitors representing the country’s growing technology sector. The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council leads the Indian delegation with 100 companies, followed by 30 participants from Kerala IT Parks. The Telecom Equipment Export Promotion Council has 16 exhibitors, and NASSCOM represents 15 software and services firms. Another 76 companies are exhibiting independently. This strong presence highlights India’s rising influence in AI, cloud computing, and emerging technologies and its partnership with the UAE in driving digital innovation. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will appear virtually on October 14 to discuss the transition toward AI-native societies. He will be joined by Peng Xiao, Group CEO of UAE-based G42, and Microsoft executives, who will share strategies for building sovereign AI ecosystems. Industry leaders, including Cerebras Systems CEO Andrew Feldman and executives from e&, will present next-generation AI, robotics, and network prototypes. Quantum computing is another key focus, with sessions led by QuantumBasel, Girls in Quantum, and Vernex Quantum Valley, exploring Europe’s deep-tech ambitions. Biotechnology and healthtech are also in focus, alongside discussions on semiconductors, intelligent connectivity, cloud computing, Web 3.0, and 5G.
