New Delhi | October 27, 2025 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi on Sunday, during his visit to the national capital for official engagements. The meeting, described as a courtesy call, focused on ongoing governance matters and coordination between the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government, according to sources familiar with the discussions. Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath also met BJP National President and Union Minister for Chemicals, Fertilisers, and Health, J.P. Nadda, at his residence in Delhi. The two leaders reportedly discussed key political and administrative developments, including the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Taking to social media, Adityanath wrote, “Today, a courtesy meeting was held in New Delhi with the Honourable National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji. Heartfelt thanks to you for providing your valuable time!” While no official statement was released, sources indicated that both meetings were part of regular interactions among senior BJP leaders to align on policy and organisational matters. Before his meetings in Delhi, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister conducted a review of preparations for the annual Kartik Purnima fair in Garhmukteshwar (Hapur district) and the Tigri fair in Amroha. Following an aerial survey of both sites, he chaired a review meeting with officials and directed them to ensure smooth arrangements for the influx of devotees. Adityanath noted that around 40–45 lakh pilgrims gather on the banks of the Ganga during Kartik Purnima for the ritual dip and lamp offerings. He instructed officials to prioritise crowd management, safety, sanitation, healthcare, lighting, and water supply. This year’s fair, scheduled from October 30 to November 5, has been designated as a “Mini Kumbh”. To ensure safety, the Chief Minister ordered the deployment of NDRF and SDRF teams, installation of CCTV and drone surveillance, and provision of rescue boats and helpline centres at all ghats. The series of meetings and reviews highlight Adityanath’s dual focus on state governance and coordination with national leadership as the BJP gears up for key electoral and religious events in the coming weeks.
