Operation Sindoor Is Still On, says Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi
Amid continuing tensions with Pakistan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday said that India was fully prepared to launch a ground offensive during Operation Sindoor if Pakistan had attempted any misadventure. Addressing a press conference in the national capital, he underlined that the armed forces had carried out major mobilisation and significantly expanded the scope of conventional military response. General Dwivedi stated that Operation Sindoor is not a concluded chapter but an ongoing mission, carried out under clear political directives and with complete operational freedom. He described the operation as a strong example of tri-service synergy, reflecting seamless coordination between the Army, Navy and Air Force in safeguarding national security. Referring to recent drone sightings along the Line of Control, the Army chief said small drones had been observed infrequently and posed no immediate threat. He assured that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains sensitive but firmly under control, with the armed forces maintaining a high level of preparedness at all times. Reiterating India’s stance, General Dwivedi warned that any future provocation would be met with a decisive response. His remarks signal New Delhi’s resolve to counter threats proactively while keeping all military options open to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
