New Delhi, May 13, 2026 Air India has announced a temporary reduction in its international flight operations till August due to ongoing airspace restrictions and rising fuel expenses. The move is aimed at managing operational challenges while maintaining schedule stability across key global routes. Several long-haul services connecting India with North America, Europe, Australia and parts of Asia will either operate with reduced frequency or remain suspended for the next few months. Routes including Delhi-Chicago, Delhi-Newark and Mumbai-New York have been impacted as the airline adjusts its network amid increasing aviation costs. The airline stated that passengers affected by cancellations or revised schedules will be provided alternate travel options, free rescheduling or full refunds. Air India said the changes are part of efforts to ensure smoother operations during a difficult phase for international aviation. The temporary network changes reflect the wider pressure on global airlines caused by restricted air corridors and expensive jet fuel. Despite the disruptions, Air India has assured passengers that support measures are being put in place to minimise inconvenience during the transition period.
