The NDA government in the state is working tirelessly to realise his vision.” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also remembered Ajit Pawar, describing his leadership as visionary, inclusive and centred on the welfare of the people. He said Pawar's contribution had left a lasting mark on the state and affirmed his commitment to carrying forward the vision of a happy and prosperous Maharashtra. Fadnavis also highlighted Pawar's administrative skills, disciplined work ethic and deep understanding of agriculture and the cooperative sector, adding that fulfilling his vision would be the true tribute to his legacy. Born on July 22, 1959, in Deolali Pravara of Ahilyanagar district, Ajit Pawar served six terms as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, making him the longest-serving leader to hold the post. He passed away in January 2026, and his birth anniversary continues to be observed with tributes from leaders remembering his contribution to the state's development and public life.
