Government Accepts CJP's Request for Neutral-Venue Talks on NEET Protest

New Delhi, July 24, 2026 The ongoing protest over the alleged NEET paper leak has entered a new phase after the government agreed to hold discussions with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at a neutral venue. The development is being seen as an effort to open dialogue while student groups continue to press for accountability and wider reforms in the education system. The CJP announced that the meeting will be held on Friday, July 24, at the Constitution Club of India after the government accepted its request for a neutral location. Speaking on the development, Sourav Das said, “Tomorrow, a discussion has been called for, we are very happy that the government has agreed to our request that it be at a neutral venue. The Constitution Club of India has been chosen.” The organisation has been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET paper leak, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with comprehensive changes to the education system. The minister's resignation continues to remain one of the key demands raised by the protesting students. Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement that the government would introduce a bill in Parliament providing for stringent action against examination paper leaks, the CJP said the "strictest action" against such irregularities would be the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. With talks now scheduled, attention will remain on whether the discussions lead to any progress on the demands raised by the protesters.
