Engine Scare Forces IndiGo Flight Back to Goa

New Delhi, September 01, 2026 A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight was forced to return to Goa shortly after take-off on Tuesday morning following a technical issue, leading to an emergency landing. The swift response by the pilots ensured that the aircraft landed safely at Manohar International Airport. IndiGo flight 6E 2102 took off from Goa for Delhi at 9:15 am, five minutes later than its scheduled departure time. However, soon after becoming airborne, one of the aircraft's engines was reportedly found to be malfunctioning, prompting the pilots to turn the plane back towards Goa. Sources said that a full emergency was declared for a brief period. In an official statement, IndiGo said that a "technical issue was detected shortly after takeoff". "Following the standard operating procedure, the relevant authorities were informed, and the pilots turned back and landed the aircraft safely at Manohar International Airport," IndiGo said in a statement. The airline confirmed that the aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance checks and will resume operations only after receiving all necessary clearances.
