Uganda’s Jessica Alupo Arrives in Delhi for BRICS
New Delhi, September 11, 2026 Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo has arrived in New Delhi ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow. Her arrival comes as the national capital gears up for a major international gathering bringing together representatives from across the Global South. Union Minister Jayant Singh received Alupo at the airport. Her visit comes as India and Uganda continue to expand their engagement across bilateral and multilateral platforms. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “India and Uganda share warm and friendly ties rooted in a shared history, with a growing partnership in both bilateral and multilateral spheres.” Alupo’s arrival adds another dimension to the summit’s broader diplomatic outreach, reflecting the growing engagement between India and Uganda as New Delhi hosts discussions involving BRICS and partners from different regions.
