Bhavantar Scheme Brings Major Relief to Soybean Farmers in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, November 4, 2025 The Madhya Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has launched the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana — or Price Difference Scheme — to support farmers facing low market prices for their crops. This initiative, part of the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA), ensures that when agricultural produce is sold below the Minimum Support Price (MSP), the difference is directly deposited into the farmers’ bank accounts. The move has brought much-needed financial relief to thousands of soybean farmers across the state. The scheme has been introduced primarily for soybean growers, with registrations closing on October 17, 2025, and procurement beginning in various mandis on October 24. By compensating for the price gap, the scheme aims to protect farmers from unpredictable market fluctuations and maintain their income stability. In Neemuch district, extensive arrangements have been made under the supervision of Collector Himanshu Chandra to make the procurement process smooth and transparent. Facilities such as clean drinking water, shaded resting areas, proper seating, accurate weighing machines, and fair auction systems have been set up in mandis located in Neemuch, Jawad, and Manasa. Health desks and nodal officers have also been deployed to ensure smooth operations and assist farmers during sales. Despite occasional bad weather, the enthusiasm among farmers remains high. In Neemuch Mandi alone, 60 farmers have sold about 1,050 quintals of soybeans, while 107 farmers in Manasa Mandi sold 1,182 quintals. The Jawad market has also seen active participation under the scheme. In total, around 15,956 farmers have registered in the district to take advantage of the Bhavantar Yojana. Farmers have welcomed the scheme as a much-needed support measure. Dal Singh, a farmer from Rampuria village, said, “I registered for the Bhavantar Yojana and brought my soybeans today. Since market prices were lower, I received an additional Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 as a price difference. The scheme is excellent — it helped me secure a fair return for my 25 to 30 quintals.” Another farmer, Bherulal Ahir from Kanavati village, shared a similar experience. “I sold my produce for Rs 3,698 per quintal in Neemuch Mandi, but under Bhavantar, the government’s MSP of Rs 5,328 gave me an extra Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,800 per quintal. We’re thankful to the Chief Minister for this timely help,” he said. Neemuch Agricultural Produce Market Administrator Sanjeev Sahu confirmed that more than 15,500 farmers have registered under the scheme and that procurement is progressing steadily. “The Chief Minister announced the difference between modal rates and the MSP of Rs 5,328 per quintal. The payment will be credited directly to the farmers’ accounts,” he said. The Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is emerging as a lifeline for Madhya Pradesh’s farming community, helping stabilize rural incomes and strengthen trust in government support systems. As procurement continues, the scheme stands as a strong example of how targeted agricultural policies can protect farmers from market uncertainty and uphold the dignity of their hard work. Bhavantar Scheme Lifts Spirits of Soybean Farmers in Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh’s Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is proving to be a game changer for soybean farmers, bringing real relief during a tough harvest season. Under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s leadership, the scheme bridges the gap between the market price and the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP), ensuring farmers get what they truly deserve. Launched under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA), the scheme directly credits the price difference into farmers’ bank accounts. In Neemuch district, thousands of farmers have already registered, selling their produce in well-organized mandis equipped with proper facilities and transparent systems. Farmers like Dal Singh from Rampuria and Bherulal Ahir from Kanavati have shared how the scheme helped them earn Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,800 more per quintal, turning losses into fair profits. Officials confirmed that procurement is moving smoothly, and payments are being credited promptly. The Bhavantar Yojana is more than just a price support system — it’s a promise of stability and respect for the farmers who power India’s fields. With soybean procurement in full swing, rural Madhya Pradesh is witnessing renewed confidence in its agricultural future.
