Deepinder Goyal Reaches Out to Ex-Zomato Staff, Says ‘I Want You Back’
New Delhi | 4 Feb 2026 Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has publicly invited former employees to return to the company, saying that both the organisation and its people have grown over time. In a message shared on X, Goyal said he believes many ex-employees still have a strong connection with the company and can play an important role in shaping its future. Addressing past and present employees directly, Goyal wrote, “If you used to work at Zomato, whether you chose to move on, or I was the one who asked you to leave, this is for you.” He openly admitted that earlier, the company may not have always provided the right environment or leadership for everyone. At the same time, he said many people genuinely enjoyed working there and built strong bonds during their time at the company. Goyal explained that the organisation has matured over the years. “We have over a hundred people at Eternal today in their second or third stints. Many of them are doing their best work now,” he wrote. He added that this change has come not just from personal growth, but also because the company has become more organised and less chaotic than before. “Maybe because they've grown, but also because the company has grown,” he said. Highlighting the scale of Eternal’s operations, Goyal pointed out that the group now includes several businesses such as Blinkit, Hyperpure, District, Nugget and the non-profit Feeding India. He stressed that the company needs people who understand “what good looks like” at Eternal and genuinely care about building its future. According to him, former employees who have gained experience elsewhere are best suited for this role. Goyal also addressed questions around leadership after stepping down as CEO. “You might say that Eternal is not going to be the same, because I am not the CEO anymore. But ask yourself a question. Did titles ever matter at Eternal? I am still very much here,” he wrote, making it clear that his involvement with the company remains strong. Encouraging interested former employees to reach out, Goyal said, “If you haven’t reached out because you think the door is closed, or because you think I’m holding onto the past, I’m not. I want you back.” He asked them to write directly to him at back@eternal.com and ended his message on a light note, saying, “The Gurgaon pollution is still a bug, but being at Eternal is the feature.” Deepinder Goyal Reaches Out to Ex-Zomato Staff, Says ‘I Want You Back’ Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has invited former employees to return to the company, saying that the organisation has changed for the better and is ready to welcome familiar faces again.
