Pakistani Woman Appeals To PM Modi After Husband Allegedly Abandons Her And Plans Second Wedding In Delhi
New Delhi | December 06, 2025 A young Pakistani woman from Karachi has made a heartfelt appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying she has been abandoned by her husband in Pakistan while he prepares for a new marriage in Delhi. Her plea has stirred strong reactions across social groups and legal networks in both India and Pakistan. The woman, Nikita Nagdev, said she married Vikram Nagdev, a Pakistani-origin man living in Indore on a long-term visa, on January 26, 2020, in Karachi according to Hindu customs. She said that Vikram brought her to India a month later, on February 26, and she believed they were starting a new life together. But what followed, she claims, was nothing like what she had imagined. According to Nikita, her husband forced her to return to Pakistan on July 9, 2020, saying there was a “visa issue” and she needed to go back temporarily. She said she was left at the Attari border and had no idea this would be the last time she would see her husband. After she returned to Karachi, she said Vikram stopped responding to her and refused to help her return to India. In her emotional video message, Nikita said she repeatedly begged Vikram to bring her back but he ignored her pleas. She said her situation worsened when she learned he had been planning a second marriage with a woman in Delhi, despite still being legally married to her. Shocked and heartbroken, she filed a written complaint on January 27, 2025, hoping someone would take notice. Nikita also recalled how the behaviour of her in-laws changed soon after the wedding. She said she discovered that Vikram was allegedly involved with one of her own relatives, and when she reported this to her father-in-law, she was told, “Boys have affairs, nothing can be done.” She said she felt isolated, mistreated and pushed out of her marriage during the COVID-19 lockdown. Her complaint reached the Sindhi Panch Mediation and Legal Counsel Centre, a body authorised by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Notices were issued to Vikram and his alleged fiancée, and a hearing was conducted. But mediation did not work. In its April 30 report, the Centre stated that since neither spouse is an Indian citizen, the case falls under Pakistan’s jurisdiction. It recommended that Vikram be deported to Pakistan so that legal proceedings could take place there. This was not the first time the case drew attention in Indore. In May 2025, Nikita also approached the Indore Social Panchayat, which again suggested that Vikram should be deported. Indore Collector Ashish Singh later confirmed that an inquiry was underway and that action would be taken once the report was complete. Nikita has now turned to the public and to India’s Prime Minister, hoping her voice will be heard. She said, “If justice is not served, women will lose faith in justice. Many girls suffer in silence. I request everyone to stand with me.” Her appeal continues to circulate widely online, as many await further action from authorities on both sides of the border. Pakistani Woman Appeals To PM Modi After Husband Allegedly Abandons Her And Plans Second Wedding In Delhi A woman from Karachi has made a strong and emotional appeal for justice after claiming her husband left her in Pakistan and is now planning to remarry in Delhi. The woman, Nikita Nagdev, says she married Vikram Nagdev in January 2020 in Karachi, following Hindu customs, and believed they would begin their life together in India. Vikram brought her to India a month later, but everything changed within a few months. Nikita says that on July 9, 2020, Vikram left her at the Attari border, saying she needed to return to Pakistan because of a visa issue. She says she trusted him and went back, not knowing it would become the start of a long struggle. After she reached Karachi, Vikram stopped helping her and refused to bring her back. She kept requesting him, but he allegedly ignored her completely. Her pain grew worse when she discovered that Vikram was preparing for a second marriage with a woman in Delhi while still legally married to her. Shocked and heartbroken, she filed a complaint in January 2025. She also shared in her video that she faced troubling behaviour even earlier, claiming Vikram was involved with one of her relatives and that her in-laws dismissed her concerns. Her case was taken to the Sindhi Panch Mediation and Legal Counsel Centre, where both sides were called, but the mediation failed. The Centre later said the case falls under Pakistan’s jurisdiction and suggested Vikram should be deported. The Indore Social Panchayat also recommended the same earlier this year. Nikita is now asking Prime Minister Modi to help her, saying she wants justice and doesn’t want women to lose faith in the system. Her video has gone viral, and people across borders are reacting to her plea.
