Prayagraj Magh Mela: Over 1.04 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip Overnight

The Magh Mela at Sangam has turned into a continuous stream of devotion since midnight. “You can see that in our continuous Sangam, bathing has been going on since late night, almost from 12 o’clock at night,” said Rishi Raj, Mela Adhikari (Magh Mela Sector, Prayagraj). He added that the crowd of devotees is constantly arriving, and bathing is happening at all ghats. The Mela officer shared that the number of bathers is rising rapidly. “And by 8 am, approximately 1 crore 4 lakh baths have already been reported, and this number is still increasing,” he said, highlighting the massive turnout. To ensure safety and order, the administration has deployed all emergency services. “All our emergency services teams are present at the site—water police team is patrolling, civil defense personnel are recruited, RAF is there, and PAC is also present,” he confirmed. The presence of these teams is helping to manage the large crowd smoothly. The administration is also guiding devotees through public announcements. “Continuous PA system announcements are being made to guide the devotees,” he said, adding that arrangements are being continuously monitored to keep the event safe and peaceful.
