UP Diwas 2026: Rashtra Prerna Sthal to Showcase Uttar Pradesh’s Expanding Tourism Landscape
Lucknow | January 23, 2026 With preparations entering the final stage, UP Diwas 2026 is set to present Uttar Pradesh as a state rich in diverse and evolving tourism experiences. From January 24 to 26, Rashtra Prerna Sthal will host a dedicated tourism showcase curated by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, highlighting the state’s journey from faith-based travel to heritage, eco-tourism and modern infrastructure-driven tourism under the theme ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh’. Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the tourism stall has been designed as a one-stop guide for visitors. Key attractions such as Magh Mela 2026, Bundelkhand’s heritage destinations, eco-tourism projects, conservation initiatives and Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation programmes will be prominently featured. The Lucknow Darshan electric double-decker bus service and projects developed under the public–private partnership model will also be showcased, reflecting the state’s growing tourism infrastructure and investment potential. He said visitors will be provided with detailed information on tourism circuits, individual destinations and easy-to-follow “how to reach” itineraries. The stall will also offer guidance on connectivity, accommodation and travel routes, helping tourists plan their journeys with clarity and confidence. A special focus will be placed on Magh Mela 2026, presenting its spiritual importance, cultural traditions and the large-scale arrangements made for pilgrims, including visual narratives of the Sangam, Kalpavas, saint gatherings and folk traditions. Bundelkhand will be highlighted as a key heritage region, with Kalinjar Fort showcased as a major attraction. Information on Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Mahoba and Banda, along with the region’s waterfalls and cultural landscapes, will underline efforts to place Bundelkhand firmly on the national tourism map. To connect with younger visitors, virtual reality experiences will allow Gen Z audiences to explore Uttar Pradesh’s tourism circuits and cultural legacy through immersive digital storytelling. Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, Amrit Abhijat, said the showcase also aligns with the National Tourism Day theme of ‘Rural and Community-Centric Tourism’. He said initiatives such as community-led Tharu tribal tourism in the Dudhwa region, rural eco-tourism circuits and locally driven experiences will be highlighted to show how tourism is generating livelihoods while protecting cultural identity.
