Lucknow, Feb 21, 2026: With the conclusion of the Uttar Pradesh Budget Session, visitors can once again step inside one of the capital’s most iconic landmarks — the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha — as part of the popular UPSTDC’s ‘Lucknow Darshan’ bus tour. The Assembly visit, which had been temporarily suspended during the session for security reasons, has now been restored to the itinerary. For travellers exploring the city, this means an opportunity to experience not just Lucknow’s iconic architecture but also the seat of the state’s democratic functioning. Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the reintroduction of the Vidhan Sabha visit strengthens the overall appeal of the tour. He noted that the grand Assembly building, known for its imposing dome and distinctive architecture, remains central to Lucknow’s identity. With the Assembly back on the route, visitors can now understand both the historical and democratic evolution of the state in a single circuit. One of the most compelling stops on the tour remains the GPO. The site continues to draw visitors interested in India’s freedom movement, with preserved elements that recall the proceedings against revolutionaries including Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqulla Khan. Operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, the ‘Lucknow Darshan’ electric double-decker bus runs daily in two slots from 1090 Chauraha. The tour covers major historical, cultural and political landmarks across the city, offering guided commentary throughout the journey. Tickets are priced at ₹500 for adults and ₹400 for children and can be purchased online through the official website or directly at the departure point. The electric bus ensures a quieter, environmentally friendly ride, making it an easy and comfortable option for families, students and visitors looking to explore Lucknow in a structured, informative format. With the Assembly visit reinstated, the circuit once again offers a complete view of the city — from its freedom struggle legacy to its functioning institutions of governance
