Maurya was travelling to Kaushambi for an official programme when the issue occurred. Within minutes of the flight, smoke reportedly began filling the cabin, prompting immediate action from the pilot. According to officials, the helicopter had taken off from the La Martiniere ground in Lucknow. Soon after the aircraft was airborne, smoke started spreading inside, creating concern among those on board. Sensing the seriousness of the situation, the pilot quickly contacted air traffic control and decided to return to the airport. The pilot safely landed the helicopter at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport through an emergency landing. After the aircraft touched down safely, officials and security personnel carried out initial checks.
