New Delhi, August 20, 2026 The death of six-year-old Pranay Teja at a private school in Visakhapatnam has sparked serious allegations of physical punishment. His family claimed that a teacher beat him with a stick for not completing his homework, after which he collapsed and was declared dead at King George Hospital (KGH). According to the family, Pranay was healthy when he left for Little Garden School on Thursday morning and had insisted on attending because exams were approaching. His father said, "In the morning around 8:00 AM, my son woke up and said he wanted to go to school. He insisted on going to school,". Later, the family received information that something had happened to him. "No one from the school called me," the father said. "The local cooks who work near my brother-in-law's place called and informed me." The family alleged that CCTV footage showed the teacher hitting and frightening the child before he collapsed. "When we checked the CCTV footage at the school, it showed that the teacher scared him. She hit him with a stick, and due to shock and fear, he collapsed right there," the father alleged. He also denied that his son had any previous health problems. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation, while the child's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The family has demanded strict action against those responsible, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
